Xaxis Appoints Perry Di Iorio as Director of Sales, Canada

New Hire Will Also Play Key Role in Driving Sales for Xaxis Performance Business, Light Reaction, and Native Ad Unit, plista

TORONTO – Xaxis, the world’s largest programmatic media and audience platform, announced it has named media industry executive Perry Di Iorio as director of sales, Canada. Di Iorio will be responsible for driving new business in both the English and French-language Canadian markets with a focus on developing direct client relationships as well as growing sales within the extended WPP family. In addition to Xaxis, Di Iorio will play a central role in building momentum for both Xaxis’ performance business, Light Reaction, and its native advertising unit, plista. plista will launch in Canada and the U.S. later this year.

“Perry brings exceptional understanding of the needs of Canadian advertisers to Xaxis, having shaped digital and cross platform strategy at some of the country’s leading publishers”

Di Iorio’s experience includes helping launch ESPN in Canada as director, sales and marketing at Crucial interactive. He also played a key role in the successful debut of the SportsNet digital platform as manager, interactive sales at Rogers Media. Prior to joining Xaxis, Di Iorio served as a sales consultant for Readers Digest where he assisted in the re-launch of the iconic magazine brand’s digital properties. Earlier he was director of business development for top media and interactive marketing solutions provider TC Media. In this position he helped clients integrate their e-mail, mobile, social media and digital promotions to drive increased ROI.

“Perry brings exceptional understanding of the needs of Canadian advertisers to Xaxis, having shaped digital and cross platform strategy at some of the country’s leading publishers,” said Rodney Perry, managing director, Canada at Xaxis. “His extensive experience in introducing new, technology-driven offerings to both traditional and digital marketers makes him an ideal addition as we continue to expand our fast growing business in Canada.”

Light Reaction, launched by Xaxis in 2015, offers an innovative, outcomes-based media model where clients pay only for the specific outcomes they are looking to drive such as sales, leads or phone calls. plista is the industry’s most comprehensive programmatic solution for native advertising, providing a single source solution for buying a broad portfolio of native ad formats in full coordination with the rest of the digital spend.

“Xaxis is without peer in the breadth and capability of its programmatic offerings across all addressable digital media channels,” said Di Iorio. “With programmatic advertising an increasingly vital part of advertisers’ total ad spend, I look forward to working with brands and agencies to help them improve the success and scale of their programmatic strategies.”

Fluent in English and French, Di Iorio also served an eight-year stint as a member of the Publisher and Video Committee for IAB Canada. He holds a BA in communications from Concordia University. Di Iorio will be based out of Xaxis’ Toronto office.
