Mobile Advertising Leader Kargo Names Greg Cappello to Vice President of Product Marketing

NEW YORK – Kargo, the leader in mobile brand advertising, announced the appointment of Greg Cappello to the newly created role of Vice President of Product Marketing.

In his new role, Cappello will help lead all marketing efforts related to Kargo’s industry-leading mobile advertising products—including its award-winning campaigns and breakthrough technology that allows Kargo to deliver mobile ads at scale across the world’s best editorial sites and apps. Cappello will help drive launches of new Kargo products and work closely with the company’s product, marketing and sales teams to develop messaging that communicates the unique value of Kargo’s offerings. He will be based in Kargo’s New York headquarters and will report directly to President & COO Ryan McConville.

“Kargo is introducing new and groundbreaking products at a lightning pace. We’re very excited to have an expert like Greg to help elucidate the incomparable benefits of those products for our brand advertising clients, our premium publishing partners and the millions of people who interact with our ads on their mobile devices every day,” said McConville.

In a statement about his appointment, Cappello said: “I am thrilled to be joining Kargo as it continues to transform the mobile landscape for brands, publishers and consumers—providing the only way to deliver engaging mobile ads at scale. I also look forward to the exciting developments that Kargo has in store as it innovates new ways to fuse the quality creative and advanced technology that has always set the company apart.”

Kargo is the only mobile advertising company that not only creates rich-media campaigns for 200+ brands (including Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Verizon and L’Oréal), but also partners with a handpicked network of 300 top publishers (including Hearst, NYT, CBS Interactive, etc.)—reaching an audience that rivals Google and Facebook in terms of scale.

Prior to joining Kargo, Cappello served as Vice President of Product Management at Undertone and also held product and marketing positions at premier media companies including Time, Inc. and A&E Television Networks.

Cappello’s hire follows a record-breaking year for Kargo, during which the company exceeded $100 million in revenue, expanded internationally and launched its first mobile advertising research initiative.
